As someone deeply entrenched in the world of technology and community-building, I’ve always been drawn to the electrifying atmosphere of tech events. From fostering tech communities like HackerNest to championing initiatives like Girl Geeks Toronto, my passion for all things tech knows no bounds. So, when the opportunity arose to attend Collision Conference 2016 in its vibrant new setting of New Orleans, I was beyond thrilled.

Collision, rapidly ascending as America’s premier tech conference, drew a staggering 20,000 attendees from over 100 countries. What truly sets Collision apart, in my opinion, is its steadfast commitment to fostering inclusivity, particularly through its annual Women In Tech initiative.

The excitement began the moment I secured my ticket and received an invitation to extend the experience to fellow women in the tech sphere. This gesture not only amplified the anticipation but also set the stage for a trip that seamlessly merged professional growth with leisurely exploration.

Now, let’s delve into the exhilarating highlights of Day 2:

  1. Keynote Address: Renowned thought leaders and industry titans took the stage to share their insights on the latest technological advancements and emerging trends. From AI-driven innovations to the future of mobility, the keynote sessions provided invaluable food for thought.
  2. Interactive Workshops: Participants had the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and engage in hands-on workshops covering a spectrum of topics, ranging from blockchain basics to UX design principles. These immersive sessions fostered collaboration and facilitated skill enhancement.
  3. Startup Showcase: The bustling exhibition floor was a playground for burgeoning startups to showcase their groundbreaking ideas and disruptive technologies. It was awe-inspiring to witness the ingenuity and creativity on display, with each booth offering a glimpse into the future of tech entrepreneurship.
  4. Panel Discussions: Thought-provoking panel discussions tackled pressing issues such as diversity in tech, ethical AI deployment, and sustainable innovation. These sessions sparked meaningful conversations and underscored the importance of collective action in addressing industry challenges.
  5. Networking Extravaganza: Beyond the scheduled sessions, the real magic of Collision unfolded during informal networking opportunities. From serendipitous encounters with industry pioneers to forging lasting connections with like-minded professionals, the networking aspect was undeniably invaluable.

In conclusion, Collision Conference 2016 was not just a gathering of tech enthusiasts; it was a melting pot of ideas, innovation, and inspiration. As we bid adieu to yet another exhilarating edition, the memories and insights gleaned will continue to fuel my passion for tech and propel me towards future endeavours.

Whether you’re a seasoned tech aficionado or a budding enthusiast, Collision Conference offers an unparalleled platform to immerse yourself in the ever-evolving landscape of technology. Until next time, keep innovating, exploring, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the tech realm.
